Back to THE RED ZONE
Season II - Week 1 ▪ 2 ▪ 3 ▪ 4 ▪ 5 ▪ 6 ▪ 7
Sorry for the absence Ladies and Gents...the Front Office has been hectic lately and we can't seem to meet some of our deadlines and O-Zone has been one of them. Funny how fast the season has gone by, but there are still some key matchups, even with the Bastards and the Flush having bye weeks. So, let's get to it.
| Week 7 | ||
| Game: | Infinity (4-2) vs. Average Joans (4-2) | Infinity by 2 |
| Analysis: | Here it comes....'This should be a doosy!' Infinity is super hot right now...almost as hot as Sarah Grimm, Ashley Mewborn, or...nevermind. But, the Joans are pretty hot too...Both teams are sporting win streaks, with Infinity's at 4. So not only does this game provide a great matchup of football, the winner officially secures the #3-seed in the Conference for the Playoffs behind Dazz and the Dozen Bastards, respectively. Despite the 4-2 record of the Average Joans, will the real Joans QB please stand up?! Consistency at this position is going to be key for the Joans to win this game, whereas I do think the Joans girls have just a slight advantage over the Infinity girls, although Infinity's Amber Epps has been on a tear of late. The Joans are going to have to be careful not to focus too much on Alston and Overton-El and let the Infinity girls beat them. Although the spread is only 2 in this game, if the Joans give Infinity opportunities with turnovers this could be a blowout. | |
| Final: | 27 - 22 Infinity | |
| Week 7 | ||
| Game: | Hurricanes (2-4) vs. The Melting Pot (0-6) | The Melting Pot by 3 |
| Analysis: | Here's my test to
see who really, reads this. Sean Hoerter (Melting Pot) Grant it,
you and your team are having fun...that's first and foremost, however, I
don't think you are giving your guys and gals an opportunity to win and
here's why. 1) 3 out of every 4 passes does not have to be deep 2)
Not taking anything away from the abilities of your ladies, but dude you
can't throw a 60 mph pass to a girl and 3) it doesn't take a closed play to
pass it to a girl. Work on those 3 things and let's see some
results. Work fast however, because you won't have the services of
Mark Conway this weekend, but someone on your team needs to replace him
immediately...he is too productive! Also your girls are going to
completely outmatch the Hurricanes in this game, so you have got to use
them and use them wisely....My girl Ashely will definitely be the
fastest on the field and and my new Sarah can catch her fanny off...I
hear Mr. Cole owes her one for an interception and have I just made two
Ashely and Sarah references in one week. Geez! Last but not
least...Mr. Daley has game, so he needs to be your Mark Conway this
week. Actually this is the last thing, if Fumba is there, he
should rush the QB. Hurricanes, well I know you read, so in fairness, here's your scouting report. Get your girls involved. Simple as that. You really only limit yourself to two plays a drive, as sometimes your girls can be nonexistent. As a matter of fact, Mr. Dunn you need to get everyone more involved. Nick Shinn, as good as he is, is not going to win you ball games alone. Eddy Gidney is not always going to sack the QB, and why are you playing safety, or was that just against the Royal Flush. Also, let's hope you get another girl for Sunday, because if the Melting Pot decides to run 3 or 4 girls, like the Flush did, you really handicap your team. Kim Dunn is a beast, but against a team full of girls, it's a wrap, esp. with Rookie Nikki Windley still learning the ropes. Also, you have a tendency to want to go deep with the ball more than you need too and what happened to that magic connection you had with your wife a season ago. Now with all that said...this game could have some playoff implications for the Hurricanes, but that would require a win, and a Black Hawks loss...my colleagues will explain that in another section! |
|
| Final: | 19 - 16 Hurricanes | |
| Week 7 | ||
| Game: | Mavericks (0-6) vs. Dazz (6-0) | Dazz by 23 |
| Analysis: | Good practice for the playoffs. There's the possibility that Dazz may set a scoring record. | |
| Final: | 69 - 6 Dazz | |
| Week 7 | ||
| Game: | Entourage (3-3) vs. Black Hawks (2-3) | Black Hawks by 10 |
| Analysis: | The GAME OF THE WEEK! This game has more playoff implications in Conference East than any other in the final week of the season. Again, I'll let my colleagues handle this one. The Black Hawks had tons of potential after that blowout win against the Hurricanes in Week 1, but the team has not lived up to that expectation since. Let's hope the bye week helped the team put things back into perspective. Entourage has been that Dow Jones team all season, up-and-down, up-and-down, although we're sure the big win against the Flush was the highlite of the season. If the pattern follows suit, then this should be a win for Entourage, but I bet the Flush doesn't hope so. However, we're believe the cycle will be broken and the Black Hawks will walk away the victors in this with a bit of momentum entering the Big Dance! | |
| Final: | 30 - 20 Black Hawks | |
