Guide to Proper Flag Handling.

Gentlemen, read this information very carefully.  Captains share and instill this information in your player's football culture.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION.

1. Captains, you or one player from your team must come and be assigned an allotment of flag belts consisting of 10 flags of one color and 4 Yellow Flags*.

This is how you will receive the belts (see Right)..at the conclusion of your game and as quickly as you can, as other teams will be waiting for belts, please return the belts in as neat of a manner as you were given (see Right).

*YELLOW FLAGS: Are for BIGGER players ONLY.

Also please make sure that your flag belt does not match your shorts/short stripes in color.  You run the risk of an illegal participation infraction if having to be warned on multiple occasions.

2. Handling Flag Rings:  Flag rings, although effective in nature, are not very sturdy in design.  Therefore, proper and careful handling of the flag rings is vital.

PLAYERS IN VIOLATION OF THE FLAG RING AND BELT HANDLING PROCEDURE RUN THE RISK OF POSSIBLE IN-GAME PENALTIES AND POSSIBLE SUSPENSIONS.

The Ring is held together and opened by the 'mouth' inside the socket and turning the small latch as shown. To open the ring, the latch should point north-to-south. To close east-to-west. If the latch is not fully north-to-south or the mouth fully open, the mouth will not fasten securely or open fully.

Flag rings should be handled, IF by one hand as shown, or by two hands, as to keep the circle tight and to prevent 'stretching' of the flag ring plastic.

PLEASE DO NOT HANDLE THE FLAG BELT RINGS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER

3. FLAG BELTS AND SOCKETS should lie flush with and point away from your body when wearing the flag belt properly!

Flag Belt Q&A:

Q:  What if we do not have any more YELLOW big boy belts? A.  First determine if one of your skinny guys has a big boy belt on.

B.  If 'A' does not pertain, then inform the Official assigned to your game that a Big Boy belt is required.  It will be your responsibility to turn this belt back in to that Official and the end of your game and not included with your team's original ring of belts.

Q. What if my flag keeps falling out of  the socket? A. First attempt to exchange a flag of the same color with a teammate in which both sockets work equally well
or if you have not used all 14 flags, attempt to try another belt assembly.

B. In the event 'A' does not work, inform the Official assigned to your game that you need a better fitting flag / flag socket and one will be provided.  It is your responsibility to give this flag back to the Official and not include it with your team's original allotments of belts.

Q. What if my team's flags match my shorts? A. After a big boy has been outfitted with a belt, attempt to switch flags ONLY, not the entire belt.

B. In the event 'A' does not solve the issue, please alert the Official assigned to your game for a belt that makes you eligible.
