Geez
Girls, can you all make me look as if I don't know what the hell I am talking
about anymore than you are right now. Seriously, only one game I've
predicted correctly this season, that is atrocious. And I really apologize
about last week, seems my alarm clock was broke and I missed a whole week.
Well, I am back and I am out for blood, I will finish above .500 this season.
Hopefully!

Week 5 |
|
|
|
Game: |
#2
Diamond Divas (3-3)
+6 vs.
#4 Screamers (0-4) |
Diamond Divas by 6 |
|
Analysis: |
I think where I am err'ing is the fact
that not a lot of runs are being scored and that is hurting more than me
not necessarily picking who wins these games or not. For example,
the Divas will win this game. Why? Well it's obvious.
I'm not sure the Screamers know what a win feels like. Actually
they don't, being that their record is 0-4. Now of course they
will read this and say 'Oh Carlito is being mean' but look at the
standings with me ... how many games have they won. Thank you.
And just when they had a game wrapped up, they blow it. Therefore,
we've learned a couple of things about the Screamers: 1) They haven't
won a game, and 2) they can't finish! However, we have learned
that Kelly 'K-Boh' Bohlander can pitch her butt off .. although I am
curious...what if I had said she can pitch her ta-tas off? I wonder what
kind of reaction 'ol Carlito would have gotten for that one! Well
I laughed and hopefully you did too! So Managers Moore and Zegarra
can we expect a better showing this weekend and heck maybe even pull a
win out of the 2 games you play ... we shall see! As for the
Divas, well they just can't beat Venom. Pitcher JC Cummings has
owned the team all season and the 3 losses do not show otherwise.
However, don't think it's all peachy-king Divas, because over the last
couple of games, you girls have not had that same kind of fire you did
to start the season. Whitney Moore and Lisa Mette who had us all
salivating at the start have given us a case of the cotton mouth lately
and in order for you to maintain any credibility of being a Championship
contender this season, they better come back quickly, although luckily
you still have two great pitchers in Jamie Pittman and Jessica Thomas,
so at least you girls can ride on their coattails in this one.
And, I'm pretty certain this win will be by 6 or more runs ...
Guaranteed! |

Game: |
#3
Wildfire (2-2)
vs.
#4 Screamers (0-4)

Screamers by 1 |

Analysis: |
Yeah, I know...you've just witnessed
Carlito making the most contradictory switch ever. After not
giving the Screamers a chance against the Divas, I have gone and picked
them to beat Wildfire. The same team that knocked off JC Cummings
and Venom a week ago. I mean, despite the team (Screamers) having
a rough go this season, they have to win one, Right?! Well, if I
have to pick them to win one, then it will be this one. Why?!
Oh shucks, I don't know, just seemed like the right thing to do.
But seriously, Wildfire makes me wonder about their closing ability as
well. And I know that sounds crazy, after the Wildfire came back to
knock off the Screamers a week ago. And this should not have
happened as it took Wildfire pitcher Aerial Sanders almost the entire
game to find her rhythm. I learned by watching these two last
week, that it must have been a while since some of these girls played,
since lots of fundamentals seemed to be lacking. Regardless, I do
think this will be a good game to watch and it will come down to which
team plays the better defense. And at this point, the Screamers
are the ones with more to prove. No one wants to go winless on the
season. |

Week 5 |

|
Game: |
#1
Venom (5-1) +5 vs.
#3 Wildfire (2-2) |
Venom by 5 |
|
Analysis: |
We don't think there will be a repeat
of the loss Venom suffered last week to the Wildfire. JC Cummings
is setting the League on fire (no pun intended) with her pitching and
she really has a bone to pick after suffering her first loss of the
season. We hear she'll be out for blood! We hear she'll be
bringing her best stuff. That could spell trouble for Wildfire.
However, the team (Venom) did lose a key member in Zenovia Hogue, who
suffered a ruptured Achilles during her game winning single against the
Divas. As no one player ignites her team like Hogue.
Wildfire has all the pieces to contend, but something seems to be
missing. Haven't put my finger on it yet, but you bet when I do,
you all will know about it. Venom just too much in this one! |
