| COED (continued from Page 1)
Then, after what looked to be a potentially high-scoring affair, both
defenses would erase the touchdowns given up from their memory
banks as neither team's offense would threaten the endzone for
nearly the next thirteen minutes. The scoreless streak would end
when the tandem of Houston and Brown would be heard for the first time
at the 17:00 minute mark when Houston would hit Brown on a precisely ran
stop-n-go route, as cornerback Errol Hood w Nothing Determined Yet With nothing determined by halftime and the score sitting at 13-8, the Gobblers would come out of the break and strike early, when Houston would connect with Brown for the second time on the day to now put the Gobblers ahead by 11. Again, Cole would rally to bounce the troops back, and again would find the answer in a female receiver, as Christine Gregory would slip behind the defense and find a nice open spot in the seam that Cole would recognize and feed her a pass the sure handed receiver would haul in for the score. With the score 19-14 in favor of the Gobblers, Houston would do his best to put the Flush away and similar to what he had done all season, he would find Marcus Brown on a go route for the receiver's third touchdown in the game. Refusing to be put away, the Flush once again would say to the Gobblers, 'anything you can do, we can do better' and once again Kiera Peoples would be on the receiving end of a Marcus Cole touchdown pass at the 14:03 mark to bring her team to within five, at 25-20 With less than seven minutes left in the game and the Flush needing a stop on defense to have another chance to score, the Gobblers would get some much needed help from unlikely candidates, the Flush themselves. On one occasion a key sack by the Flush's Alex Brooks was called back after Senior Official Xavier Overton-El would call Brooks for lining up in the Blitz Zone and crossing the line of scrimmage. Managing to survive the Blitz Zone penalty, Brooks would then be called for a questionable pass interference penalty, again by Overton-El, on a Gobblers' fourth down, setting the Gobblers up with another first down. This time the Gobblers would make the Flush pay, and Houston would connect with Wilkerson to put the Gobblers up by 12, at 32-20, and with little time remaining, would secure the TAFFL Coed Cup Championship. QB Kevin Houston (2) celebrates after a good play which led to a Gobblers touchdown in the TAFFL Coed Cup Championship Game Named the TAFFL Coed Cup MVP Despite a solid performance by Houston who passed for 4 touchdowns, ran for a score, and had a sack on defense, it was wide receiver Marcus Brown, who would be named the TAFFL Coed Cup MVP. Brown would finish the game with four receptions, three touchdowns, and a tackle. Wilkerson and the Flush's Kiera Peoples would tie for the most receptions by either team with five.

Heat Burn ... Woman Cry The Heat continued to stay hot in their semi-final matchup against No Woman No Cry, who for the second straight game could not seem to find the offense they needed to stay competitive. QB Alex Brooks would connect on a touchdown pass to John Branch and Brooks would also add a sack for a safety to lead the Heat to the 10-6 victory and their opportunity to play in the Tournament Championship game.
